In over 10 years existence, we have helped direct over $300 million of institutional capital to opportunities in African markets, connecting institutions growing appetite for Africa risk with well packaged, bankable African opportunities. We have also assisted businesses looking to enter African markets develop and execute frontier market entry strategies such as join-venture partnerships, M&A, trade relationships or market representation. Libera Partners is also actively involved in taking principal investment positions on a deal by deal basis.

Okezie Ofoegbu: Mr. Okezie Ofoegbu is the Managing Principal at Libera Partners. Prior to joining Libera Partners, he was a Vice President at Emerging Capital Partners (ECP), where he was part of a team that invested and managed $1.6 billion of private equity funds in emerging markets with a focus on Africa. Mr. Ofoegbu holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania and a BSc. in Computer Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria.

Samiya Edwards: Ms. Samiya “Sam” Edwards is a Vice President at Libera Partners. Previously, she worked with early stage and private equity funds focused on emerging markets in Asia and Africa on transactions and portfolio management in the financial services, technology and social media sectors. Sam holds a Masters in International Economics and International Development from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Akinyemi Jelenke: Mr. Akinyemi “JJ” Jelenke is a Vice President in the Washington, DC office. Mr. Jelenke previously served as a member of the finance department of a publicly traded $25 billion Information Technology Solutions firm in Herndon, VA. Mr. Akinyemi holds Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting (First Class Honors), Masters degree in Accounting and Internal Auditing from the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, and an MBA degree from New York University Stern School of Business.
